reflections on Education Technology
This week I really enjoyed exploring the Tech Chick Tips website and listening to some of their podcasts. As I listened to their most recent podcast, I found myself trying to think of ways that I could incorporate nearly all of their ideas in my classroom. Even some of the ones that do not directly relate to my content area! They were just that good. I’m not sure where they find all of their material, but I am so glad they find it and I love that they post links to all of their tips on the website for easy access after I’m thinking, “Oohhh, Ooohh, I want that!”
I really liked their idea about using GarageBand and music patterns. I’ve been trying to think of a way to incorporate GarageBand and other great music software into some younger classes and I think this is a great lesson idea. There was also a link to a website called Purple Planet for downloading FREE royalty-free music to use in the classroom. Can I say that again? FREE! I can’t wait to play around with Green Screen Adventures and come up with some way I can use it in the classroom.

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline, and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”
-Shin’ichi Suzuki
