As the Associate Director in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance, Jennifer is responsible for leadership in the Theatre unit.
Jennifer joined the Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty in August 2011. Previously Jennifer was an assistant professor at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL where she directed productions and taught all levels of Acting & Directing in the Musical Theatre/Acting conservatory.
Jennifer's passion is new play development. She has directed several new plays including workshop productions in Chicago and Norway (Oslo and the Arctic city of Tromsø) of Chantal Bilodeau’s Forward, the second play in The Arctic Cycle. Jen directed the premiere production of Bilodeau’s The Motherline at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2009 and Fashionistas by Janet Allard at the New York City venue, Urban Stages. She took several K-State students along to participate in this New York production in the summer of 2012. Professional theatre credits include work with at Lincoln Center, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Dallas Theater Center, Old Globe Theatres, Guthrie Theater, Circuit Playhouse, and Monomoy Theatre. Jennifer has performed as an actor and singer in New York, Chicago, and as far away as China and Croatia. Jennifer is an Associate Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and a member of Actors Equity Association as Jennifer Guindon.
