Karen LargeIn high demand as a recitalist, concerto soloist, collaborative artist, orchestral flutist and teacher, Kristyn Son has appeared as a soloist in Korea, Singapore, Thailand and across the United States including the Sejong University, Sangmyung University, Songkhla Rajabhat University, and frequent performances at the National Flute Association Convention. Active as a chamber artist, Dr. Son is a founding member of the LaDo Trio, flute, violin, and piano trio and a member of the Konza Wind Quintet. 

Dr. Son is a first prize winner of the Texas Flute Society Myrna Brown Competition, South Carolina Flute Society Young Artist Competition, Kentucky Flute Society Young Artist Competition, American Protégé International Flute Competition, Korea Flute Competition, and Ewha and Kyunghyang Concours. Dr. Son has appeared as a concerto soloist with the NSU Wind Symphony, UNT Symphony Orchestra, and the Landon Symphonette.

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, the Manhattan School of Music, and University of North Texas, Kristyn has performed at major venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Seoul Arts Hall. Her principal teachers include Marina Piccinini, Marya Martin, and Mary Karen Clardy. Dr. Son is currently a LefreQue Artist and sponsored artist by the Korea Total Economic Institute.
