Designing or overseeing student work in lighting or sound and managing the electrics shop. Supervising stage management students.
Bio
James is a native Kansan from Great Bend, Kansas. In undergrad he started out as a sound technician and carpenter but quickly realized he enjoyed pointing bright lights at actors instead. During graduate school James also dialed in on his leadership abilities and pursued Stage Management in addition to Lighting Design. James has worked for theatres across the United States from South Carolina to New Mexico. Since 2016, James is the Executive Director of the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, an equity theatre company on the banks of the Mississippi. While at the Showboat, James has worked in multiple areas from designing lights to stage managing productions. James is a member of Actors Equity Association, United Institute of Technical Theatre, and American Theatre in Higher Education.
