The 2018-19 K-State Tap Dance Ensemble
Zoe Abner is a sophomore here at Kansas State University majoring in fine arts with an interest in graphic design with a minor in dance. Zoe was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but her father joined the Army, so she has lived in Texas, Kentucky, Germany, and Kansas. Zoe began dancing at the age of 5 and has studied jazz, tap, ballet, and pointe, and well as performing on her cheer and dance teams in high school. In addition to classes and performing with the ensemble, Zoe coaches the Riley County High School’s dance team and teaches at In Motion Dance Company here in Manhattan. In the future, Zoe hopes to perform in the Disney Parks, or on a Disney Cruise Line.
Kimberly Coussens is from Zionsville, Indiana. Kimberly is a junior majoring in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology with an emphasis in Biodiversity and Conservation. She is also a member of the mellophone section in the Kansas State University Marching Band. She’s excited for her second year in the K-State Tap Ensemble!
Taylor Curtright is a new member of the Tap Ensemble. She will be attending K-State as a freshman and is super excited to be in college. She is from the Ft. Riley area and graduated from Junction City High School. She will be majoring in Psychology and is excited to experience her first year at K-State. Taylor enjoys tap dancing, obviously, and she also likes to hang out with her boyfriend and friends.
Tressa Dekat is a senior from Topeka majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry. This is her second year on tap ensemble. She loves spending time with her roommates, bingeing tv shows, and eating.
Katelyn Gehrt I grew up in Houston, Texas but was born in Kansas. She is currently finishing up my undergraduate degree in Accounting while getting a minor in Dance. In her free time she loves hanging out with my friends on the Tap Ensemble. She loves to run, and is currently training to run The Little Apple Marathon.”
Jazlyn Kingsolver is from Salina, Ks. Jazlyn is a sophomore at Kansas State University. She is majoring in Psychology and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Jazlyn mainly spends her free time hanging out with her friends. This is her first year in the K-State tap ensemble and she is excited to see where it takes her.
Elizabeth (Liz) Kritikos is a 4th year student with a passion for dancing! Liz is from a small town in Illinois called New Lenox. She is Theatre Major, currently on a performance track. She is also a Dance Minor. She loves reading, acting, singing and tapping!
Hanna Leiker is a sophomore at Kansas State University where she is majoring in Management Information Systems and minoring in dance. She grew up in Salina, Kansas where she spent most of her time dancing at Vivette’s Dance Studio. During her free time, if she’s not dancing, Hanna enjoys reading comics or making quilts.
Natalie Longhurst is from Lawrence, Kansas and is a junior majoring in human resource management, minoring in dance and anthropology. She is involved in Tap To Togetherness, tap ensemble, and various business clubs through the college of business. For fun she enjoys spending time with my friends and family.
Olivia Mangual is in her third year with the Tap Ensemble. She is a dance minor and has previously been in both Winter Dance and Spring Dance concerts. She is a finance major and hopes to get a job helping other families and individuals with meeting their financial goals. Olivia is a silly, fun-loving girl who aspires to make everybody laugh. Hey, every group needs a “class clown”.
Christine Odom is a senior at K-State doubling majoring in Bakery and Milling Science with an option in cereal chemistry. She is originally from Memphis, TN. This is her first year with the ensemble. She likes to participate in the Bakery and Milling Science clubs and is part of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. For fun, she likes to hang out with friends and, of course, tap dance!
Ceslie Parker-Waller is a junior Theatre major with a performance emphasis and a Dance minor from Wichita, KS. She enjoys participating in all things theatre related and is excited to be joining the Tap Ensemble for her first year.
Emma-Quin Smith is a graduate student from Springfield, MO. She holds a bachelors degree in political science and is currently working on her Masters in Regional and Community Planning at K-State. In her free time EQ enjoys baking, reading, and enjoying coffee at Arrow.
Abigail Svoboda is from the small town of Lincolnville, KS. She is currently majoring in Kinesiology after recently transferring from the University of Kansas. For fun she likes to spend time with her family and go on road trips with her friends.
Breana Tiffany is from Topeka, Kansas and is a theatre major and a dance minor at K-State. When she isn't in shows, dancing, or working, Breana can be found cuddling with her dog Princess, playing Kingdom Hearts or Sims, and watching the same Disney movies over and over again.
Kendra Truitt is a senior majoring in Social Work with a minor in American Ethnic Studies. She's been tapping with the ensemble for three years. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, travelling, and petting dogs.
Sydney VanDyke is from St. Joseph, MO and is here at Kansas State majoring in Speech and Language Pathology with a minor in Vocal Performance. She is a big fan of music, theatre, and dance. She hopes to be involved in each throughout her time at K-State! Go Wildcats!
Ellie Ward is a junior from Olathe, Ks. She is majoring Secondary Education with and emphasis in Earth Science and a minor in Dance. She enjoys archery, movies and books, and going on adventures with her friends.
JD Warren is a junior from Salina, KS. He is majoring in theatre. He enjoys singing, acting, and working in the marketing office for the theatre as a graphic designer.
Victoria Whitmore is a senior from Greeley, CO studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry. This is her 3rd year on the Tap Ensemble. She enjoys being outdoors and going on adventures with her fiance.
Hannah Yeoman is a senior at Kansas State University majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation Biology with an emphasis in Biodiversity & Conservation and is getting her certificate in dance. She grew up in Mission Hills, Kansas and started dancing at Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice at the age of five. She continues to study Classical Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Musical Theater, Leaps and Turns, Contemporary, and Modern Dance. She also danced with Performance Companies throughout her dance career at Miller Marley including: Showbiz Performers, The Entertainers, and The Competition Team and was also honored to be a Disney World Troupe Traveling Member. This is her fifth year on the Kansas State University Tap Dance Ensemble and she is thrilled to be returning. She is an alumni of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and held many leadership and executive positions. This is the fourth year she has been a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi. She also is serving as the President of the student organization, KanDance. She is a research assistant for the research program, Tap To Togetherness, for which she applied and was awarded the Undergraduate Research Scholarship for the Spring of 2016. She teaches dance and performance at a local studio and continues to pass down the beautiful artform of dance to her many students.
Chelsie Yokum is a graduate student at K-State in the Family Studies and Human Services Master's program. She is a Graduate Assistant in a preschool classroom at Hoeflin Stone House, and is from Kansas City, Missouri. In her free time Chelsie enjoys reading, exercising, and hiking.
