Bio
Kathy is originally from Sutton, Nebraska, which makes Manhattan, Kansas look like a metropolis in comparison. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she worked briefly as a theatrical carpenter, but soon found herself transformed into a scenic artist. She has worked for theatres across the country, including American Heartland Theatre in Kansas City, The Delaware Theatre Company and Utah Shakespearean Festival. She was the resident scenic designer and charge scenic artist for the Omaha Theater Company for Young People/Omaha Theatre Ballet for four years before returning to graduate school to study scenic design. While at UMKC, she had the opportunity to study andwork with nationally and internationally known directors and designers, including Barry Kyle (Royal Shakespeare Company), Ricardo Kahn (Crossroads Theatre), Daniel Helfgott and John Ezell.
