"Who handles your food?" you ask.

"We both do," Karly says. "Darla usually prepares it, and I usually serve it."

"You both follow all the regulations?"

Darla looks away. Karly says, "Our mission is to make people healthy, not to make them sick.

"Now I have a few questions for you. Cam has salmonella, is that right?"

"Yes," you say.

"Isn’t that usually associated with chicken factories, egg salad, that kind of unhealthy stuff? Because we don’t serve anything of that kind at Salad Daze. All our produce is organic and locally grown -"

"Karly uses the latest methods," Darla breaks in. "She went all the way to Africa to take a seminar."

A look of alarm glances off Karly’s face.
