K-STATE SCHEDULES BUDGET FORUMS TO INFORM AND GET INPUT

MANHATTAN -- How declining revenues in Kansas will impact Kansas State University will be the topic of a series of budget forums scheduled in the next few weeks at K-State.

Faculty, staff and students will have an opportunity to hear more about the budget situation, as well as give input about possible solutions. Beginning Jan. 20, Bruce Shubert, vice president for administration and finance; M. Duane Nellis, provost and senior vice president; Ruth Dyer, associate provost; and Cindy Bontrager, budget director, will meet with colleges and other units.

"We want to inform everyone of the serious budget situation facing the university and at the same time ask for ideas and suggestions from faculty, students and classified and unclassified employees," Shubert said.

"K-State is fortunate to have very talented and creative people as part of our K-State family of faculty and staff and we look forward to everyone's input in discussing the best ways to meet these difficult financial challenges," Nellis said.
