Leadership Lessons From Our Friends in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Let’s take a look at leadership through a global lens. We’ll hear from former Mandela Washington Fellows about their experience practicing leadership as they problem-solve and make change in sub-Saharan Africa. Participants will gain an understanding of leadership at a global level – differences, similarities, and opportunities for us all to grow.
How Your Organization or Business Can Benefit From a Partnership with K-State
  • As a land-grant institution, Kansas State University has a mission to positively impact the people and communities of Kansas and beyond. A significant way to deliver on that promise is through mutually beneficial partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community groups. These efforts are referred to as outreach, engagement, and extension. In this session, we will explore ways that K-State can be utilized as a resource for the betterment of communities.
Manage Stress by Being Mindful, and What Exactly That Means
  • Hear from Jon McGraw, K-State alumnus and former Kansas City Chiefs football player, on a technique he has developed to cope with stress from daily life. His focus on mindfulness and how to be present in our choices and activities will help participants find the gaps in their day-to-day where we can improve ourselves, and our inner dialogue.
How to Connect with Our Neighbors Amid Divisive Topics
  • So much has happened in our world over the last three years, and much of it surrounds very controversial and divisive topics – the ones people tend to have strong feelings about. How can we stay connected to those around us who may not share the same opinions as us? Tamara Bauer presents five simple strategies that will help you stay focused on what why we do want to stay connected with our neighbors, in spite of our differences.
Customize Your Learning: What Honors is Really About
