About Advising Notes

Advising notes features in the KSU Advisor Center in KSIS were custom-built to meet the specific needs of the K-State academic advising community.  These features provide academic advisors with another set of powerful, yet easy-to-use tools to create and manage an online record of advising notes.  See the Product Roadmap for the complete list of advising notes features.

To complement the new features in KSIS, Guidelines for KSIS Advising Notes were developed to provide advisors with guidance and best practices on drafting and managing advising notes in KSIS.  The guidelines were developed by members of the Advisor Forum, adopted by the University Advising Committee, and published on the Academic Advising website.

Advisors are encouraged to attend hands-on, instructor-led training to get up to speed quickly on the new features in KSIS and to become familiar with the new guidelines and best practices.  See the "Advising in KSIS" course on the KSIS Training page for details.
