Embedded advisers are placed in partner high schools full-time and assist all students with their post-secondary plans.
Meet Our Embedded College Advisers
Jasmine Coley
A third year adviser at JC Harmon High School, Jasmine has extensive experience working with students. She has passion and experience working with students of all grades and ages from elementary to High School. Jasmine has also served in leadership positions for youth programs such as KC Urban Youth Academy and Compton Youth Academy. For college, Jasmine attended California State University, Fullerton for her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and received her Master's in Education from Rockhurst University. Jasmine grew up in Orange County, California where she attended Garden Grove High School and has over 20 years of softball experience. Some of Jasmine's interests include being active, traveling with friends and family, and trying new foods.
Jaylen Cook-Gibson
Jaylen, a recent first-generation graduate of spring 2021 and a first year college advisor at F.L. Schlagle High, brings passion and commitment for working with youth. Jaylen attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she majored in Human Development and Family Science and minored in Sociology, Education, and International Studies. During this, she involved herself in social activism, community building, and developing youth. Jaylen enjoys working with youth because it's always different. Each young person is unique, they bring their own life experiences, needs and expectations. When Jaylen is not advising, she enjoys watching football, shopping for and taking care of her plants, and loves a good pastry!
Callie Reynolds
Callie a spring 2018 graduate of Kansas State University. Callie is a second-year adviser at Olathe West High School. Callie studied Psychology and Gerontology. She was involved with Tri Delta Sorority and was her chapter's Activities Chairman. Callie is currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling. She was recently inducted into a counseling honor society, Chi Sigma Iota. She is looking forward to graduating in May 2022. Her dream job is a secondary level school counselor in the Kansas City area. Callie enjoys staying active playing tennis, kickboxing, and going on walks. In her free time she cheers on the KSU Wildcats, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs, and spends a significant amount of time with her family.
Izabel Noyes
Izabel graduated from the University of Central Missouri in the summer of 2019 with a Bachelors in General Studies. During her time at UCM, she was involved in Sigma Kappa Sorority, worked on campus as a Residence Hall Office Assistant, and was a substitute teacher for high schoolers. After graduating, she worked as a Pediatric Dental Assistant, where she discovered her passion her helping kids and families. She found KSCAC through her Academic Advisor and decided she wanted pursue a career in education and help other students figure out their own college and career paths. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, playing with her pet bunnies, and spending time with family and friends.
Lucy Coopman
A first-year adviser, Lucy earned her degree in Sociology from Kansas State University, and entered the college advising world to better help students understand their path after high school. The Kansas State College Advising Corps has allowed her to build initial relationships with students and create a genuine connection, so they can better recognize their goals and aspirations. In addition to her primary job, she serves as an advisor to the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority in the Kansas City Area. Lucy grew up in the Kansas City area and is so excited to be returning and to cheer on the her favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ashlyn Kirkpatrick
Ashlyn Kirkpatrick is an embedded adviser at Shawnee Mission West High School. Ashlyn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Management and Human Resources. She joined the College Advising Corps to make college more accessible to all students. Ashlyn also teaches Learn to Skate classes for kids interested in figure skating. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside with friends and family.
Jenae Anderson
Jenae is a recent graduate of Kansas State University where she studied psychology. Jenae is a first-year advisor at Sumner Academy of Arts and Sciences in the Kansas City, Kansas. While completing her bachelor's degree, she was involved with the Staley School of Leadership Studies and K-State First. Within those experiences, she developed a passion for working with students in having access to further their own education. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, shopping, and spending time with her dog.
Citlally Orozco
Citlally Orozco Aldaz is a first-year adviser working for the K-State College Advising Corps. She is located in the Kansas City area at Wyandotte High School. Prior to this position, Citlally Attended K-State where she graduated in 2021 with two bachelor's degrees in Political Science and American Ethnic Studies. Some interesting facts about Citlally, she was born in Mexico, but raised in Kansas City. She graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 2017. Her favorite music genre is kpop. Finally, she loves helping underrepresented students and she is very passionate about immigration, she hopes to go to law school in the near future!

Logan Van Winkle
Logan comes to KSCAC as a new adviser at Olathe North High School. He grew up in Raymore, Missouri and graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School. After, he attended Missouri State University where he graduated in May of 2019. He majored in Communication Studies, got a minor in Film Studies, and earned a Certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. In his free time, Logan loves watching movies/reality TV, spending time with his friends/family, and taking his dog, Sherlock, on walks.
Deven Wallace
Deven Wallace comes to KSCAC as a graduate of The University of Kansas after studying psychology and obtaining her undergraduate degree with the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences in December 2019. Deven is a first year adviser at Olathe East High School. Before enrolling at Emporia State University's graduate program in school counseling she was involved in Big Brothers and Big Sisters Club in Lawrence, KS and interned for a school counselor at an elementary school. She is in her second year of her master's program and decided to become an adviser so she could help first generation students, like she was, to know the importance of getting a good education and to support them with the processes to make it happen. She loves her family, relaxing at home, and hanging out with friends in her spare time.
Monique Wesley
Monique graduated from the University of Kansas where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and English. While at KU Monique played on the softball team. She recently graduated with her Master's degree in Education from The University of Rio Grande, where she was the Graduate Assistant for the softball team. As a Southern California native, she is a huge sports fan, and loves basketball, baseball and Kobe Bryant. Growing up with two parents that were educators, she knew she also wanted to help students achieve their goals. Monique chose to be a College Adviser because she wanted to be an example for kids of all backgrounds.
Kirsten Dieckmann
Kirsten is a first year adviser at Dodge City High School. Kirsten graduated from Kansas State University and received a degree in Human Development and Family Science with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies. While attending college, Kirsten was involved in the Human Development and Family Science Association where she was the Community Service Chairman during her Junior year. During her last semester of college, Kirsten interned with Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters and found a passion for helping others. When Kirsten is not busy, she likes to hang out with her family and pets or spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes.
Breanna Sundeen
Breanna comes to KSCAC as a graduate of Kansas State University where she studied Human Development and Family Science. Breanna is a first year adviser at Valley Center High School based right outside of Wichita, Kansas. At K-State, she was a College Ambassador for two years with the College of Health and Human Sciences. This is where she found realized her passion for helping students. After graduating in 2020 she lived in Kansas City for a year working with the homeless population. Now she is happy assisting students with their postsecondary plans and volunteering at a local homeless shelter in Wichita. In her free time, Breanna enjoys reading, running, playing music, and being creative.
Evelyn Irigoyen-Aguirre
Evelyn Irigoyen-Aguirre is originally from Chihuahua, MX, but grew up in Garden City, KS. She graduated from Fort Hays State University in May 2020 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. Evelyn also received an Associate of Science with a focus in Elementary Education from Garden City Community College in May 2018, where she earned an award for Outstanding Graduate. During her undergraduate career, she worked at several jobs focused on higher education. She was a Transition Specialist in the Office of Student Engagement at FHSU, AVID Tutor at Garden City High School, and a work-study for TRIO Student Support Services at Garden City Community College. Evelyn enjoys helping at St. Mary Catholic Church by teaching First Communion on Wednesday evenings. During her free time, she plays on her Nintendo Switch. She also enjoys making arts and crafts for her loved ones and watching movies with her friends and family. Fun fact - she owns a large collection of nail polishes.
Alyssa Anderson
Alyssa Anderson is a College Adviser at Campus High School in the Wichita area. Her passion for helping others allows her to direct and guide students on their post-secondary journey. She recently graduated in May of 2020 at Kansas State University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. When she isn't cheering on her fellow Wildcats or Chiefs she enjoys baking, traveling, and hanging out with her friends and family.

Hybrid College advisers serve recipients of the Kansas City Scholars scholarship across the Kansas City metro area, and meet with students both in-person and virtually.
Meet Our Hybrid College Advisers
McLain Hymer
McLain is a current hybrid college adviser who previously served for two years as an in-school adviser at Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, KS. McLain graduated from Kansas State University in May 2019 with a dual degree in Psychology and Human Development & Family Science, with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies. During her time at K-State, McLain was involved in Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Stand Up For Your Sister, and undergraduate research. McLain also worked as a school counseling intern at Wamego High School and as an undergraduate teaching assistant. In her free time, McLain loves to read, try new restaurants, explore Kansas City, and stay active by going on walks and doing pilates and yoga.
Katie Halvorsen
Katie Halvorsen is a new addition to the hybrid advising team. She began her college advising career serving with Missouri College Advising Corps for two years. She was born and raised in Blue Springs, MO, and attended Blue Springs South High School. She recently graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in psychology and religious studies. During her time at Missouri State, she was involved in the psychology club and her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. She is currently attending the University of Central Missouri to receive a master's in counseling. She was honored to present at the Missouri School Counselors Association Conference on the Best Practices to Support Low Income, First-Generation, and Underrepresented Students in their Post-Secondary Pursuits. In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking, traveling, hanging out with her friends, and cuddling with her cat. She also has a hard time saying no to a new Netflix or Hulu documentary.
Jonathan Ruiz
Jonathan joins the Hybrid College Advising Team as a third year adviser after serving for two years at Wyandotte High School as an embedded adviser. He was born and raised in Kansas City, KS (Wyandotte County) and graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 2015. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Kansas During his time in undergrad, he was involved in various aspects of student government while at KU, serving as a Senator for the Latin American Student Union for two terms, then as president of the Latin American Student Union and the Multicultural Student Government. He was also involved heavily with his faith in the Called To Greatness Student Ministry and served his fraternity Beta Upsilon Chi as Secretary. Jonathan is very politically active and currently volunteers actively for get-out-the-vote initiatives in his community and does community activism work in Wyandotte County. He is working on his Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas and currently also has an internship at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center working in the Behavioral Health Department. Jonathan is passionate about his community, serving the youth of Kansas City, and is dedicated to giving back to his community.
Dalton Mitchell
Dalton Mitchell serves the Kansas State College Advising Corps as a Hybrid College Adviser, where he works closely with KC Scholars scholarship recipients throughout KC, guiding them in the college process. Prior to his position as Hybrid Adviser, Dalton was an in-school College Adviser at Shawnee Mission West High School for two years. At West, Dalton served low income, first-generation, and underrepresented students, helping students find their best match and fit when it came to their post-secondary plans. He also helped to create and grow a college going culture at West, where he helped organize various workshops, admission and scholarship presentations, along with events to celebrate seniors and their college decisions. While he is not based in a school, he loves traveling and meeting with students in person, making meaningful connections, and serving students in anyway that he can.
Hannah Voyles
Hannah is a Hybrid College Adviser who began her experience with the Missouri College Advising Corps. She graduated from Missouri State University with her B.S. in Public Relations in May of 2019 and is pursuing her M.P.A. in Nonprofit Management at UMKC. She currently calls Kansas City home, but grew up moving all over the country and went to high school in Germany! During her undergrad, Hannah served as president of a volunteer organization and has a passion for service. In her free time, Hannah enjoys playing with her dog, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
