International Insight

Transfer Students

Applicants who have completed 24 credit hours or more of collegiate-level coursework are considered transfer students. If you have not completed 24 credit hours, you will be considered a non-transfer applicant. Transfer students are not required to submit high school transcripts.

Proof of English proficiency is not required for admission to Kansas State University. Admissions decisions are made on the academic qualifications of the applicant. Some selective programs have different English standards.

General Academic Requirements

  • Completed high school degree
  • 24 credit hours completed at a collegiate level
  • 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on college or university transcripts

Transfer Credit Process

  • If you have attended a US university or college you can begin the transfer credit evaluation now!
  • Search for you institution on our transfer equivalency website.
  • If you can't find your institution or specific course, send a copy of your class syllabus to transferevaluation@ksu.edu. You can even do this before you are admitted!


Additional Requirements for Selective Programs


College of Architecture, Planning and Design 

Requires English proficiency, minimum GPA of 3.0 recommended, submission of ACT or SAT scores are strongly encouraged. 

 Interior Design Program in the College of Human Ecology

Requires English proficiency and a minimum GPA of 3.0, submission of ACT or SAT scores are strongly encouraged.  

Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management in the College of Agriculture

Requires English proficiency and a minimum GPA of 3.0, submission of ACT or SAT scores are strongly encouraged. 

Athletic Training in the College of Human Ecology

Must have a cumulative college/university GPA of 2.75, students with a 2.0 to 2.74 GPA are eligible for admission to the Human Ecology undeclared major.

College of Engineering

Minimum GPA of 2.5 recommended.

College of Business Administration

Minimum GPA of 2.5 recommended.

Pre-Health Advising Option

Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Completing Pre-Health prerequisites prepares students for health professional schools. It does not result in the completion of a degree, with the exception of Clinical Lab Science.
