Jami ClarkJami Clark currently serves as the Human Capital Representative for the Center for Child Development within the Division of Student Life.  She joined the K-State Family in 1998 and has worked in higher education for 20 years.  Prior to the Center for Child Development she served as the HR Liaison for the K-State Career Center.

In 2015 Jami served as part of the Kaizen Event team charged with redesigning the hiring process at K-State, cutting the hiring process significantly and allowing K-State to retain and hire high performing employees.

Jami is a member of several organizations locally and nationally.  The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the College and University Professional Association of Human Resources of Kansas (CUPA-HR) and the Human Resource Management Network of Manhattan (HRMN).  Additionally, she holds a certification in Professional Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University.

Tara ColemanTara Coleman, Associate Professor, is the Web Services Librarian for K-State Libraries. She is responsible for usability, content, and general oversight of a Libraries' web presence. When not conquering the web, she chairs the K-State Book Network (KSBN), the university's common reading program, and serves on K-State First, the university's first year experience program. She received a BA in English at Kansas State University and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

Mitzi FarmerAcademic Advisor, Mechanical & Nuclear Engineeringmwfarmer@ksu.edu

Mitzi FarmerMitzi Farmer currently serves as an Academic Advisor in the Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department. She actively helps to manage the department’s student resource center where faculty, staff and students visit on a daily basis for a myriad of questions about the MNE degree curriculum program and various types of university concerns. Mitzi helps to oversee numerous processes and procedures of MNE students for undergraduate research, study abroad, scholarships, internships and co-op opportunities.  She also coordinates prospective student department visits with faculty and the recruitment office.

Mitzi’s creative facilitation of the MNE department orientation and enrollment for students builds a connection and camaraderie which are foundations for student persistence and retention.  The past two fall semesters, she was an instructor for K-State University Experience course, in which students are provided support for the transition into university life and the K-State community.

She completed her MA Ed for Secondary Education, ‘08 from University of Phoenix. Mitzi recently completed Effective College Instruction Certification from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) with a cohort group with K-State First program.

Roberta Maldonado Franzen

Roberta Maldonado Franzen joined the Kansas State University community in the spring of 2010 and has worked in the College of Human Ecology, Office of Institutional Equity, Human Resources, and currently the School of Leadership Studies. She came to K-State with over 10 years of experience at Fortune 500 companies and a non-profit organization.

Roberta, while serving as the Director of Talent Acquisition and Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness served as the project lead at a kaizen event for the continuous improvement process to streamline and later automate the university hiring process. She led the team that is a proud recipient of the CUPA-HR 2016 HR Excellence Award in the Mid-West Region.

Roberta is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and College and University Professional Association of Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Additionally, she holds a certification in Professional Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute.  She earned the Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, Interview Architect, and Emotional and Social Competency Inventory certification.  

Roberta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a graduate certificate in conflict resolution from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Administration from Central Michigan University.  She studied International Conflict and Trauma abroad in Northern Ireland.  She is pursuing a PhD in Leadership Communications from Kansas State University.

Rebecca GouldMarketing Career Coachrgould08@ksu.edu

Rebecca GouldRebecca Gould serves as a Career Coach in the College of Business working specifically with marketing students. She joined K-State in 2016 moving back to her hometown of Manhattan, KS. In her current role Rebecca strives to provide students with a world class experience by connecting with students, hosting student focused events and building employer relations. Rebecca builds strong relationships with students through care, continuously improving herself and being positive. Rebecca was the spring 2018 recipient of the Kansas State Bank Award for Outstanding Advising.

Prior to joining the K-State family Gould spent 11 years with Panda Restaurant Group, most recently, as an area coach of operations supporting eight states. During this time, she was instrumental in the development and promotion of more than 40 upper-level managers. She was chosen to be a presenter at the Leaders Conference in front of more than 500 managers, executives and business partners. She also spent seven years with Sykes Enterprises Inc. working as a training leader where she developed training materials and assisted in opening a new call center in the Philippines.

Shanna LegleiterShanna Legleiter currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources overseeing the departments of Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness, Learning and Development, and Talent Acquisition. She joined the K-State family in 2014 and she has worked in higher education for over 22 years. During her stint in higher education, Shanna has developed and delivered customized training programs in a variety of areas including supervision, customer service, and leadership excellence to name a few.

Shanna holds a variety of certifications including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Intercultural Development, Lean Six Sigma yellow belt, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect and Korn Ferry Voices 360. In addition, she is a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory. Shanna is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and College and University Professional Association of Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Additionally, she is a member of the Kansas (CUPA-HR) chapter where she is serving as Past President and a member of the Midwest Region (CUPA-HR) board where she is serving as an At-Large Member.

Stephanie PierceEconomic Development Specialist, K-State Institute for Commercializationsmpierce@ksu.edu

Stephanie PierceStephanie Pierce serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Research. Although a lifetime K-Stater, she joined K-State as an employee in 2015.  She serves as the Human Resources liaison for the Vice President for Research Unit. In this capacity, she assists in creating and submitting position descriptions, aids in position searches and on-boarding activities, and completes human resource related paperwork and other employee transactions.

Stephanie's career has taken many paths that have included human resource activities. She served as office manager for over six years where she completed hiring activities for new employees, administered benefits, and processed payroll. Prior to K-State, Stephanie owned her own business, Purple Swirl Frozen Yogurt, in which she handled all human resource activities from employee recruitment and hiring to scheduling and training.

Charlotte SelfCharlotte Self currently serves as the Director of Employee Relations & Engagement and ADA Coordinator of Human Resources.  She has been with K-State for over 25 years in the area human resources. Charlotte is in charge of providing consulting services on employee relations matters, including policies and procedures, leadership development, mediation, dispute and conflict resolution, developmental and performance coaching, team or individual engagements and interventions. She also supports managers and supervisors in creating action plan to address performance and behavioral issues. Charlotte is a graduate of Manhattan Christian College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Ethics.

Jay StephensJay Stephens currently serves as Vice President for Human Resources at Kansas State University.  He arrived on campus in June from Boise State University where he served as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources.   Prior to Boise State he served for four years as the Director of Human Resources, Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator at Southern Oregon University.  He also spent five years in Utah as the Director of Human Resources at Utah State University-Eastern.  Before working in higher education he was a Human Resources Analyst in the Office of Human Resources at the Utah Department of Human Services.  He is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in HR Management.  He speaks Portuguese.  He grew up 8 miles from Death Valley.  He enjoys playing golf even though he is not great at it and also enjoys woodworking and doing just about anything with his family.

Kellie WilsonKellie Wilson serves as the Senior Strategic Partner in Human Resources. She joined Kansas State University in June of 2016. In her position Kellie works with the College of Agriculture, Education, the Graduate School and both the Olathe Campus and Global Campus on their recruitment and hiring needs. Prior to joining the K-State family Kellie worked with multiple industries as both a recruiter and senior HR Generalist hiring recent college graduates up to executive level positions.

Kellie earned certifications from Korn Ferry in Leadership and Interview Architect. In addition, she is a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Kellie participated in the Coffman Leadership Institute in August of 2018. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and College and University Professional Association of Human Resources national and state chapters. Kellie is also a member of the Wildcat Wellness Coalition.
