Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library

A principal objective of the Institute is to foster collaboration with the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, and its non-profit support organization, the Eisenhower Foundation. This collaboration encourages and advances scholarship, research, and public education in furtherance of Dwight D. Eisenhower's legacy of military and Presidential leadership.

Most of the Presidential Libraries maintain formal relationships with one or more regional universities. The Institute provides the major link between Kansas State University and the Eisenhower Library in Abilene, Kansas. The Institute and the Eisenhower Library will jointly sponsor symposia, conferences and speakers. In addition to fostering scholarly research at the Eisenhower Library through fellowships and scholarships, the Institute will support graduate education, training, and internships in museum and archival studies. The Institute will endeavor to advance the Eisenhower legacy to the general public as well as to scholars. This "public history" is a significant component of the Institute's mission and partnership with the Eisenhower Center. It is recognized that Presidential Libraries receive no direct federally appropriated funds for educational programs, public programs, outreach or exhibits and, therefore, are dependent upon their Foundations for support. Kansas State University recognizes that its support in funding these efforts for the Eisenhower Library through the Eisenhower Foundation will be a primary objective of the Institute.
