Office of the President
Cost Savings Target for the Administrative Furlough Plan

Impact to Mission and/or Operations
Staff will need to coordinate furlough days with their supervisors to ensure the office is covered and work can be supported during their absence.
Utilization of Salary Tiers
We are not using the salary tiers and instead doing an across the board furlough for our 5 impacted staff.

Effective Dates
Proposed Administrative Furlough Begin Date: August 9, 2020
Proposed Administrative Furlough End Date: June 11, 2021
Furlough Deployment
We plan to let each staff member work with his or her direct supervisor to determine his or her implementation plan. We would encourage taking these days at one time, but recognize that may create a financial hardship for our employees and will be as a flexible as possible in planning for this time.
Employees Exempted from Administrative Furlough
- We have exempted the employees who have already taken a 10% salary reduction which is in excess of our furlough plan.
- We are exempting the President based on guidance from the Kansas Board of Regents regarding university CEOs. Instead, the President has voluntarily made a contribution to the K-State Strong Relief Fund for Students.
