How to Survive a Weather Emergency

Summary: Do you know how to respond to a weather related emergency? This presentation prepares the audience to better handle and reduce the risk of Kansas weather related emergencies to included tornados, driving in ice and snow, lightning and floods.

Summary: What makes bystanders more or less likely to intervene when someone is in trouble? This presentation prepares the audience to safely take a stand in a variety of situations, including sexual assault and alcohol emergencies.

Stop the Bleed Module 1

Presenter: Officer Dustin Parker of the K-State Police Department

Summary:  Did you know that a person can die from blood loss within five minutes? No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene and best positioned to provide first care. Stop the Bleed training teaches you a variety of bleeding control techniques.

This safety talk will teach you the fundamentals of using compression and tourniquets to control bleeding. If you complete this training and Stop the Bleed Module 2 you can earn your Stop the Bleed certification. Enroll soon via HRIS as space is limited! Class size set at 10.

You may enroll through HRIS Self-Enrollment to receive immediate confirmation (see the Employee Self Service Learning & Development directions for more information).
