Course Name:  Establishing and Maintaining Positions Using HRIS 

Prerequisite:  Be able to use a web browser that supports HRIS, attend Activities for Developing HRIS On-Line Skills (optional), and attend the Developing HRIS On-Line Skills course, attend Establishing and Maintaining Payroll Funding

Length of Session:  1 Hour

Audience:  Department HCS Liaisons

Session Description:

A course to provide a training session for on-line users that will focus on how to use the HRIS to create and maintain positions. This course will be held in a computer lab and each participant will have access to a computer for completing activities presented in class.

Session Objectives:  As a result of this session, participants will:

  • Reference Policy and procedures
  • Understand position types and position attributes
  • Understand relationship between position and employee
  • Know how effective dates are used in position management
  • Access Action/Reason codes used in position management
  • Add new positions
  • Maintain and correct position data
  • Reuse positions
  • Attach funding to a position

Enrollment will be confirmed by an e-mail response to the sender.
