K-State Gardens offers April 16 bus trip to Botanica Gardens in Wichita
The Friends of the Kansas State University Gardens has planned a public bus trip Thursday, April 16, to tour the Botanica Gardens in Wichita.
“We will have a private tour and talk about the thousands of tulips and other spring flowers, as well as the themed gardens of Botanica,” said Lori Levin, one of the trip organizers.
Additionally, the group also will stop at The Ulrich Museum and outdoor sculpture collection at Wichita State University.
A continental breakfast and other refreshments will be served on the bus which departs promptly at 8 a.m. at the Manhattan Town Center east parking lot, between JCPenny and Chili’s. The bus return at 5 p.m.
While in Wichita, the group also will be served a deli box lunch with cookie. More refreshments will be served on the return trip, Levin said.
The $75 fee includes round trip bus transportation, food and refreshments, admission and guided tour.
Reservations and trip payment are due no later than April 6 by contacting Anne Springer of the K-State horticulture department at 785-532-1442 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registrants may also visit or write the department at 2021 Throckmorton Hall, Manhattan, Kan. 66506.
