Workout with your Student

Parents may utilize the Chester E. Peters Recreation Center when accompanied by their student on October 13th from 8am-8pm free of charge.  Parents will need to sign a waiver prior to use of the Recreation Center on the day of their visit.

Locked Manhattan

The first escape room adventure in Manhattan, Kansas focused on providing an unforgettable adventure for all of our players. The escape rooms are intricately designed through countless hours of research and planning. The idea behind escape room games is that you and your friends are locked in a room which is filled with puzzles that will lead to your hopeful escape. You have one hour to investigate the room, piece together clues, and solve puzzles in order to find your way out.

Go Bowling at the K-State Student Union

Wabash Cannon Bowl, the Union's bowling center, is your one-stop shop for recreation on the K-State campus.

Union Renovation Celebration Dedication Event

Union Renovation Dedication Celebration includes a balloon drop with 2017 balloons - each containing a free prize! Music, food, and student comments will round out the event. Union Ambassadors will be providing building tours from 2-4pm.

Regnier Hall Formal Dedication

The new Regnier hall is complete and ready to be dedicated. A two year, $75 million dollar project allows top of the line space for students in the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.

Need a place to eat with your student??

The Derby Dining Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Breakfast is $8 per person, lunch is $11 per person, and dinner is $13 per person for all-you-care-to eat food in Derby.  Children ages 5 to 10 are half price and children under 4 years of age are free with a paying adult meal.  You can view the food options available at https://apps2.housing.k-state.edu/menu/index.php?l=1&M=1&y=2017&m=10&d=14.


Jardine Cornerstone Coffee and Bakery (2000 Tunstall Circle), located within the Jardine Plaza Neighborhood will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Game day biscuits and gravy will be served along with a variety of house-made pastries.  Single biscuit is $2.25 and double is $4.  Other snacks, beverages, and convenience items are available for purchase at Cornerstone.


JP's Sports Grill in the Jardine Apartments will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature their game day menu (http://housing.k-state.edu/pdfs/dining/retail/jps/090817%20GamedayMenu%20SB.pdf).

Tours depart at 7:30, 8:00, 9:00, and 9:30. Each walking tour is 30 minutes long and lead by a current K-Stater!

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony & Breakfast

Celebrate your family's K-State tradition! The K-State Parents and Family Association will host this traditional celebration of loyalty to K-State. The ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition. Participants will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the program and ceremony.

Konza Prairie

Located in the Flint Hills of northeastern Kansas, Konza Prairie Biological Station is a native tallgrass prairie preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy and Kansas State University and managed as a field research station by the K-State Division of Biology.  K-State Family Tailgate (formerly known as Family Time in Cat Town) 

The K-State Parents and Family Association is pleased to host this 12th annual event, formerly known as Family Time in Cat Town, on Saturday, October 14th. Every K-State parent, family member, and student is invited to this event, sponsored by Hy-Vee and Payless ShoeSource. 

Held in conjunction with Family Day, this casual pre-game event begins two hours prior to kick-off of the K-State vs. TCU game. The event will feature great food, the chance to purchase tickets to win $2,000 in FREE tuition for your student, fantastic door prizes, a fun-filled tailgate experience area, a photo booth, a visit from Willie the Wildcat, and the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents, families, and K-State administrators.

NOTE:  This event has moved to an indoor location at the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.

Union Ambassadors will have an information table for parents and students to learn about the K-State Student Union, the recent updates to the facility, and go on building tours. We are also going to have an art gallery exhibit documenting the 'YourUnion' Renovation that will tentatively be from Oct 7-21.

Tours of the K-State Campus will take place departing from the Berney Family Welcome Center. Walking tours will depart at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00 PM and will last a half-hour.
