Workout with your Student

Parents may utilize the Chester E. Peters Recreation Center when accompanied by their student on October 25th from 8am-8pm free of charge.  Parents will need to sign a waiver prior to use of the Recreation Center on the day of their visit.

Locked Manhattan

The first escape room adventure in Manhattan, Kansas focused on providing an unforgettable adventure for all of our players. The escape rooms are intricately designed through countless hours of research and planning. The idea behind escape room games is that you and your friends are locked in a room which is filled with puzzles that will lead to your hopeful escape. You have one hour to investigate the room, piece together clues, and solve puzzles in order to find your way out.

Need a place to eat with your student??

Derby Dining Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Breakfast is $8 per person, lunch is $11 per person, and dinner is $13 per person for all-you-care-to eat food in Derby. Children ages 5-10 are $7 when accompanied by a paying guest and children under 4 years of age are free when accompanied by a paying guest. View the menu

Jardine Cornerstone Coffee & Bakery (2000 Tunstall Circle), located in the Jardine Apartments Plaza Neighborhood, will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. A variety of gourmet coffees, tea, freshly squeezed juices and smoothies are available, in addition to delicious house-made pastries. Cornerstone also offers snacks, beverages and convenience items.

JP's Sports Grill, located next to Cornerstone, will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature a special game day menu.

Union Station by JP's Gastropub, located in the K-State Student Union, will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is the place to be on college football Saturdays! With 18 beer and wine taps, 20 TVs (including a gigantic 90” flat screen), and great food and drink specials, you will not be disappointed. A special game day buffet featuring many of the popular items from the full menu will be available for $15.95 for adults, $1 per age for children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and under. Check out the full menu.

Beach Museum of Art Open House and Art Beyond Sight Celebration

Come see the fall exhibitions and experience the Beach Museum of Art with all your senses. This event is being held as part of the Museum's Visual Impairment Awareness month activities. Featured exhibitions are Beyond Gravity, Jeremiah Ariaz: Louisana Trail Riders, and John Steuart Curry: The Cowboy Within.

Tours of the K-State residence halls, Smurthwaite Leadership/Scholarship House and the Honors House will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours can be requested at the front desk of any of the residence halls or houses during that time.

Admissions Presentations 

K-State Admissions Representatives will be presenting at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 over the admissions and scholarships process, academic programs and campus life. 

The Berney Family Welcome Center will be open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM for prospective students and families to visit!

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony & Brunch

Celebrate your family's K-State tradition! The K-State Parents and Family Association will host this traditional celebration of loyalty to K-State. The ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition. Are you a first generation family? If so, we look forward to celebrating the beginning of your legacy.  Participants will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the program and ceremony.

Konza Prairie

Located in the Flint Hills of northeastern Kansas, Konza Prairie Biological Station is a native tallgrass prairie preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy and Kansas State University and managed as a field research station by the K-State Division of Biology. Grab a donut and some coffee before you start your day! This donut shop in Aggieville has a fun atmosphere, great homemade treats, and bikes for rental, as well!



K-State Family Tailgate

The K-State Parents and Family Association is pleased to host this 14th annual event, formerly known as Family Time in Cat Town. Event Check-In will begin two and half hours prior to kick-off. Every K-State parent, family member, and student is invited to register for this event. 

Held in conjunction with Family Day, this casual pre-game event begins two hours prior to kick-off of the K-State vs. Oklahoma football game. The event will feature great food, the chance to purchase tickets to win $2,000 in FREE tuition for your student, fantastic door prizes, a fun-filled tailgate experience area, a photo booth, a visit from Willie the Wildcat, and the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents, families, and K-State administrators.

St. Isidore's Tailgate!

St. Isidore's will be celebrating Family Day and Homecoming with a tailgate in Cat Town (at the far south end of the West parking lot)! All students, alumni, parents, and friends of St. Isidore's are invited to reconnect with old classmates, meet our staff, and enjoy burgers and brats on us. We'll fire up the grill 3 hours prior to kickoff! See you there!

Hale Library Open House

The K-State family is invited to tour the newly constructed Dave and Ellie Everitt Learning Commons located on the first floor of Hale Library. This is the first completed phase of the Hale Library Renovation & Restoration Project after the May 2018 fire.
