2. North Central Regional Center for Rural Development (NCRCRD) Small Grants

Call is made in the late summer.

Proposal deadline is late January.

Awards are made to teams involving land grant employees drawn from at least two north central states for work in any of the following areas:

  • Innovation diffusion for rural development
  • Sustainable communities
  • Leadership development
  • Entrepreneurial communities

3. North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (NCR-SARE) Research and Education Grant Program

Call is made in August

Pre-proposal is due late October

Full proposal due April

“Projects explore and promote environmentally sound, profitable, and socially responsible food and/or fiber systems. Research and Education projects include a strong outreach component and significant farmer/rancher or other end user involvement from inception of the idea through implementation of the project.”
