The goal of Intercultural learning experiences is to learn how to work together and support each other in our understanding and interaction with the world around us. Growth opportunities can be explored through the following overarching goals:

• Recognizing the humanity of all people
• Behaving in tolerant ways
• Recognizing and appreciating cultural differences and commonalities
• Committing to building civility and cultural competencies on our daily interactions
• Committing to moving towards a global mindset which allows for acceptance of cultural difference and commonality

Qualified Administrators (QAs) can administer Group and Individual IDI Profiles and are also trained to facilitate Intercultural dialogues. The goal of the facilitator is to equip the learners for self-development, growth and continual learning about a subject. Intercultural dialogues require creating conditions for comfortable and supportive environments to engage in transformative intercultural learning.

The support of small groups through intentional dialogue in which participants can identify and share their own story, develop understanding and empathy from listening to others’ stories, develop unity around commonalities and differences, and generate ideas for intentional actions for continued learning and development will support a more inclusive K-State community.

The following Kansas State University faculty and staff have completed the Intercultural Development Inventory Qualifying Seminar and are Qualified Administrators.
