Mentoring Programs for Students of Color: Recruiting Students of Color to PWI Institutions

The presentation will discuss how to establish mentoring programs for students of color at K-12 educational institutions. Additionally. how teacher attitudes impact the learning of all students, especially students of color. Additionally, our efforts at a primarily White institution to recruit more students of color (education majors) on to our campus. The Target audience is anyone involved in k-12 education as well as college admissions and recruiters interested in diversifying college campuses.

  • Former Educational Consultant for Western Region U.S. for S.A.M. Schools which partnered with the U.S. Department of Education to establish RTI in public schools.
  • Specialization in Multicultural Education & Issues relating to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in K-12 settings.
