Academics
"We are an Academic Leader in the Fraternity World"
Delta Tau Delta knows that the main reason most people go to college is to receive an education and that is why we try to give our members the best environment to reach their academic potential. Below you will see some of our programs we have installed to help encourage academic achievement and secure the professional futures of our members.
Study Rooms
Every floor of our house contains a study room. Each study room is equipped with desks and a high-speed DSL internet connection for your computers. The study rooms are a 24 hour quiet room so that at any time of the day or night one can go in and study in the quiet. There are empty desks for general use at these times and most brothers are more than happy to lend you their computer if needed. Also in the study rooms are test files that contain tests from previous semesters that actives are constantly adding too. They prove to be a very beneficial study tool on first exams to know what a teacher will be testing over.
Scholarship
Scholarship is one of the most effective tools in promoting academic achievement and Delta Tau Delta recognizes that. Our academic fund provides a scholarship for all members who achieved over a 3.5 GPA the previous semester at KSU. We also award gift certificates to various places for a grade of A on tests or papers in any class. Every semester the Academic Affairs Chairman organizes a steak dinner for all members of the house that successfully achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher the previous semester as well. Our coveted Bill Lumburgh Trophy and new Initiate Cup are handed out each semester to the high active and new member grade point average. We are constantly updating our academic program and constantly improving our chapter grades at the same time!
Member Requirements
Every new member at Gamma Chi chapter of Delta Tau Delta is required to maintain a 2.35 GPA their pledge semester to be initiated the following semester. We help transition new members to college life with weekly required study hours and constant grade checks to see if any new member needs assistance in a class. After initiation, active members are required to be enrolled in no less than 12 credit hours a semester and hold a 2.0 GPA. We pride ourselves on keeping our chapter average above the All-Men's KSU average and competitive with the All-Fraternity KSU average. Those averages are taken from the male student population here at K-State and the fraternity rosters at KSU respectively.
