What supplies do I need to bring to debate camp?

• Extra long twin sheets and a blanket
• A pillow
• Clothes for two weeks
• Quarters for laundry
• Laundry detergent
• Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste etc)
• Pens
• Scotch tape
• Scissors
• A notebook
• Spending money
• An evidence tub
• File folders
• 2-3 expandable files
• A laptop computer if you have one - NOT A NECESSITY!!!!
• An umbrella or a raincoat
• Good shoes for walking
• Bring a camera to take pictures of your trip!

Will I need extra money at the WDW?

Room and board includes three meals a day. Students might want to bring money for snacks, and extra supplies while they are at the WDW.

Is food included in the commuter cost?

Unfortunately, the meal plan can only be purchased with a room in the dorms. Commuter students should eat breakfast before they arrive in the morning and either bring a bagged lunch or purchase lunch on campus.

What will we do for entertainment?

While the focus of the WDW is debate, each Friday night we’ll provide special activities for the workshop. Friday night activities will include, bowling at the K-State Union, A Dance, or a movie.

Can I go to church?

The Wildcat Debate Workshop provides transportation to and from several church services in the area. When you arrive we'll provide you with a list of Sunday morning services in the area and you can select the one you would like to attend.

Can I leave campus with my family or friends?

If you would ever like to leave campus with a family member or friend, as long as the workshop has a note ahead of time, we can make this happen. The Workshop MUST have prior approval by parental/guardian units for this to happen.

Do I need to buy evidence separately?

Not at all. In fact we'll provide you with an electronic set of evidence before the institute begins!! We'll begin practice debates on the first day. The evidence produced by the workshop during your session is included in the price of the workshop. Each student will receive a hard copy of the evidence and a CD.
