Career Center Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement

The Career Center at Kansas State University affirms our long-standing commitment to offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for all K-State students. We endeavor to do that by:

There is still much work to do. We re-affirm doing all that we can to create a more inclusive K-State . Three new departmental goals for the Career Center during 2020-21 are—

  1. Contributing to the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Framework working group
  2. Creating an Employer of Concern online form that will alert the executive director to diversity, equity or inclusion concerns about employers recruiting through the Career Center
  3. Piloting intercultural competency training for recruiters with Career Center Champions

As part of Student Life, we also support the division’s strategic plan and commitment to “see, hear and serve the whole student and maximize their potential to graduate, enter the workforce, and grow as a compassionate, ethical and engaged member of society.” We will do our part to—

  • Listen and engage,
  • Empower students to engage in problem-solving,
  • Advocate for equity,
  • Champion holistic well-being, and
  • Foster a welcoming community.
