Social Security Administration will begin assigning Social Security Numbers beginning with “8” which will cause problems with K-State WIDs that all begin with “8.” This will impact multiple systems (Student Financial Assistance, Financial Services, Human Resources, ISO, administrative offices, AVOW, others). Report on student feedback is being completed. Feedback sessions for advisers are being planned for fall -- mid-September through mid-October was suggested. Sessions will include 8-10 advisers per session, and both undergraduate and graduate advisers. Send list of advisers to Diana Blake. Send emails to assistant deans for distribution.

Planner. Some “when offered” information is still missing. Old information (old classes no longer offered) needs to be inactivated, but impact on DARS is still being investigated. Guidelines for inactivating courses not taught need to be found or developed. Can a report be run identifying last date course was offered? A decision on how to proceed needs to be made at next meeting for fall implementation of planner.
Committee (Brad Cunningham, David Delker, Larry Satzler and Mike Crow) has not met, but will.
A self-assessment modeled on the security training may be developed to improve understanding and enforcement of FERPA. One idea is for an on-line 10 question (10 minute) assessment to be completed annually or every other year.
