“I visited another school, and one of the professors actually recommended I check out K-State for my major. I figured that was a pretty great endorsement.”

Sparking interest

My sister had a speech impediment, and I would always go with her to therapy. I found out it was really interesting, and that I had an ear for it. I took an introductory class when I got to K-State, and it further sparked my interest. I love the idea of helping people improve their lives.

Make the leap

Get involved! As an out-of-state student, I didn’t know many people when I got here. Getting involved in various clubs and organizations gives you a great foundation of friends and resources. Don’t be afraid to take risks.

More than service

So far, my favorite K-State experience has been my time in Quest Freshman Honorary. I’ve gotten to know great people while working together to give back to the community through various outreach projects. That’s one of the great things about K-State, you can get a little of everything.
