Additional freshman scholarships for domestic, in-state students

In addition to general university scholarships/awards, Manhattan campus competitive awards, and Polytechnic campus competitive awards, K-State offers other supplemental awards and alumni and legacy scholarships, as well as various awards available through the K-State Scholarship Network. Please review the scholarships below to help determine your eligibility for individual awards, and remember that your first step is always to apply for admission!

Please note that meeting the eligibility requirements for a scholarship does not guarantee an award, as all award amounts and criteria are pending availability of funds and are subject to change. General freshman scholarship renewal requirements apply for all renewable awards.

Supplemental awards

Award Description Value Eligibility
International Baccalaureate and AP Capstone Students who complete an International Baccalaureate or AP Capstone diploma upon graduation may be eligible for consideration. Additional $1,000 scholarship award.

Students are eligible for consideration with proof of completion of an International Baccalaureate or AP Capstone diploma upon graduation.

Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science

Students who participate in the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science are eligible for a one-time supplemental scholarship in addition to any academic or leadership award.

Be sure to indicate your involvement at the Academy of Mathematics and Science on the K-State Scholarship application.

$1,000 for freshman year (nonrenewable).

Alumni and legacy scholarships

These are awards offered through K-State alumni clubs and programs, as well as an award specifically for students who have an eligible family member who is a K-State Alumni Association member.

Alumni Association Club

Regional alumni clubs and Catbacker clubs offer many scholarships.

Scholarship money raised by alumni clubs and Catbacker clubs is supplemented with contributions from the Alumni Association and the Col. Gayle Foster Scholarship fund.

Alumni Association Wabash CannonBall The Wabash CannonBall Kansas City Scholarship provides scholarships for Kansas City-area high school seniors who plan to attend Kansas State University.
Alumni Association Legacy

For students whose parent, step-parent, grandparent or legal guardian is a K-State graduate, the university scholarship committee awards a limited number of Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships.

Preference is given to students who have an eligible family member who is an Alumni Association member. Legacy Scholarships are funded through the K-State License Plate Program.

This scholarship can be applied for via the K-State Scholarship Network after you are admitted to the university.
