Go Abroad Again

Did you get the travel bug while abroad? Go explore another part of the world or revisit a past adventure! If you’re interested in going abroad again after graduation, Education Abroad can point you in the right direction!

Fulbright U.S. Student Grant

The Fulbright U.S. Student Grant is one of the best known international programs, offering applicants the opportunity to pursue graduate education, conduct research, or teach English abroad. Providing full funding for an academic year abroad, it is tenable in over 160 countries. Students can apply during the final year or thereafter until they complete their PhD. Interested students should contact Jim Hohenbary, K-State Fulbright Program Advisor - jimlth@ksu.edu or 785-532-3422 - to learn more.

Peace Corps

The Peace Corps can provide you the opportunity to serve others, learn another language, develop new skills, and have the adventure of a lifetime. There are also great benefits, such as student loan deferment, 48 paid vacation days, and a $6000+ bonus! Interested? K-State has its very own Peace Corps campus representative! Contact Becky Carnes to learn more about this great opportunity!

Teach English Abroad

Get your TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) to open the possibility of getting paid to teach English and travel around the world. ESL Cafe provides resources and guides for certification programs and teaching abroad jobs.

Gap-Year Programs

Boost your personal and professional development before entering the traditional “working world” by participating in a gap year program. These post-grad experiences may include opportunities to intern, work, volunteer, or learn another language. Explore programs through GoOverseas and CIEE.

Work Abroad

Finding a job abroad can require knowledge of different countries’ cultural practices and job application expectations. Every K-State student has access to a Handshake Account through the K-State Career Center with resources like GoinGlobal to search for jobs on a global scale and access country specific career guides. Search USA Jobs for federal employment opportunities around the world. In 2016, USA Jobs marketed announcements in over 147 countries.
