I moved to Manhattan and began working at KSU in January 2020. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Dayton (UD) in Dayton, Ohio, but am originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. As an undergraduate student, I studied abroad for a semester in Rome, Italy at Loyola University Chicago’s campus, the John Felice Rome Center. After graduating college, I worked for Royal Caribbean cruise line on board ships for a seven-month contract. After living in such an intercultural environment on ships, I decided I wanted to move abroad and teach English. I moved to Thailand, earned my TESOL certificate, and lived there for seven months before returning to the States to start my master’s program. While pursuing my M.S.E. in College Student Personnel, I worked as a graduate assistant for the department of Housing & Residence Life and Center for International Programs at UD, overseeing a learning-living community of international, exchange, and U.S. students living together. I also completed three internships in Education Abroad at various universities in Southwest Ohio. After completing my master’s degree, I led a cultural immersion program to India for six weeks for a group of undergraduate students at UD. I’m excited to be at K-State supporting students who are preparing for their own international adventures!
