Finals Prep

The AAC has a lot to offer as you start to prepare for finals! We know you probably have a lot of questions, and we're here to answer them! You can also check out any of our Academic Success Tools designed specifically for finals prep:

How do I prepare for finals?

Like a long car journey, it's best to start by mapping out your finals plan. Watch this video to help craft your finals plan. If videos are not your style, look at the final prep plan.

I don't know how to study effectively. What should I do?

Studying for all your classes at the same time can feel overwhelming. Consider studying a little bit each day over a longer period of time. By using academic success tools like the 7-Day Study Plan and Blooms Taxonomy, you can find additional study strategies or techniques that help you build a plan.

Want to learn more? Check out this video guide from the Academic Achievement Center.

I am confused on some course content. Can I still get help?

Tutoring Services is a great place to come and review content you're struggling with. Tutoring is available in a variety of courses through both drop-in tutoring and appointment tutoring, which are available until the last day of classes. There is no tutoring during finals week.

Additionally, your faculty's office hours are purposely created to help you! Be sure to stop in and visit with them if you have any questions.

I need a quiet space to study on campus. What are my options?

There are many spaces on campus to study including the Student Union and Hale Library.

I tend to procrastinate. Do you have anything that can help me?

Procrastination is a place where we can all get stuck. One way to limit procrastination is to plan out your days/weeks ahead of time. You can do this by using our Prioritization Mapping or the Week at a Glance Academic Success Tools.

I think I would benefit from meeting with someone to talk over my finals plan. Is there anyone available?

Yes, there is! The Academic Coaching Learning Lab, located in 107 Holtz Hall, is available to all K-State students and is offered virtually through Zoom until the last day of classes.

The AAC Learning Lab is available for all K-State students Monday through Thursday 1:30-3:30pm, Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm, and Thursday 10am-noon.. Request an Academic Coach to be connected to the Learning Lab.

I want to maintain the integrity of my work. What can I do?

As you work on finals and assignments, it’s important to remember the Honor Pledge. It’s a good idea to review the expectations on proper and improper collaboration for each of your courses. Reach out to your faculty via email or during office hours to ask any questions, especially before major exams or high-stakes assignments. Check out the Honor and Integrity website for more resources and tips!
