Action skills: 5. Interview: The Courage and Fear Interview Form

Instructions

Choose someone you know and admire. It could be a parent, or grandparent, or even a neighbor, or an older teenager you really like. If you have a difficult time thinking of someone, consider interviewing your teacher. You could also select other people in your school like your custodians or cooks. Tell the person you are studying in your school how people deal with fear and find courage. Ask them if they would give you a few minutes of their time to respond to four questions. If they agree to the interview and before beginning, say:

I will not give a class report on what you say. I will not turn my notes to my teacher. This is for my learning only. It is confidential.

Question 1: When you were my age, can you recall being scared of something? What scared you?

Question 2: How did you manage this fear?

Question 3: Can you recall ever seeing someone do something courageous? If so, what happened?

Question 4: Can you recall a moment in your life when you did something courageous? If so, what happened?

Thank you very much for your time and help.
