Concepts (Purpose)
Parent as caretaker
We cannot achieve our core purpose by demanding obedience of children. Instead of insisting they follow our path, we are challenged to inspire and teach them. In the end, our children will have to make their true north their own. In a sense, we are caretakers teaching and guiding our children to the point where they can assume responsibility and care for themselves. We begin as a parent with absolute authority and then gradually hand authority over to our children one small step at a time.

Children need you to be a hero in their eyes, a hero in the sense of standing for what you believe, who cares enough about a child to say, “This is what I value. This is what is important.”
