“Losing” teaches more than winning
I think the key to becoming an inner champion is in losing. Champions emerge from the struggle to endure adversity and persist toward an honorable goal despite setback. Being a champion is a “heart” thing. The kid on a losing team who shows up for every practice and works hard during a game is more the champion than the child on a team that is so powerful that it never loses. It is not necessary to win to be a champion. It is necessary, though, to show strength and grace in the face of disappointment and discouragement. That is the real power of a champion.
