To this point in the course we have focused primarily on the principles of anger management. Now we are going to shift to skills. Both principles and skills are important. Programs that emphasize only skills fail to give learners the information that will enable them to understand the implications of their actions. Principles help learners make independent decisions. A good foundation in principles helps learners be good thinkers.

Programs that emphasize only principles, however, are too lofty and abstract. Skills are necessary to bring learning to earth in a practical way. Both are necessary and each compliments the other.
