What we tell ourselves can aggravate our anger. Effective anger management depends on a rational assessment of the emotional experience during the arousal.

Journal entry#18. Restating false ideas. Restate each of the following false ideas we might tell ourselves so the idea is more rational and positive.

My child has to be perfect
Bad things should not happen to me
Others always have to keep my best interests in mind
I can't change
All anger is bad
I am a weak person
