Letting go of thoughts
Letting go of unreasonable thoughts sounds nice. But accomplishing this task is often harder than what we might think. Intellectually, we may recognize our faulty conclusions, but emotionally we may want to keep them in place. There are many reasons for this resistance. They certainly give as an excuse for feeling angry. We may like the illusion of power anger may seem to provide.

If we want to reduce our level of anger we have to detect when our thinking has become unreasonable and then replace those thoughts with those that are more accurate and supportive (more on this later).
