1. Keep your cool
Children who are quickly aroused to anger and have a difficult time calming down need to be around adults who can lower the heat in a situation. Anger in adults is clearly and emphatically related to anger arousal in children. The FireWorks course was developed because of this causal relationship. Hopefully, you are learning to calm your own anger in difficult circumstances. Showing children how it’s done is much more effective than demanding and punishing. Angry adults with eyes blazing are not likely to give children the opportunity to calm down.
