Forum posts
Grading criteria

Each quality message posted to the threaded forum is worth from 1-5 points (with a maximum of 100 points).

Go to FSHS 700 Forum.

A quality message is a post that includes worthwhile content. This content can be:

--a helpful response to another student's message,
--a reaction to the instructor's response,
--a new insight or suggestion.

Brief posts like, “I agree with you” will not be counted or graded.

A quality post contributes to community learning and cohesion.

When quality posts exceed 20 in number, the final score will be the sum of the 20 highest scoring posts.

Do not wait until the end of the official semester to leave your messages on the message board. Rushing to complete the requirement at the end of the semester prevents any discussion about your posts from taking place. Furthermore, doing so places a heavy burden on the instructor because all posts are read and graded. This alert does not apply to students enrolling late in a semester (which is possible because of the course's asynchronous nature). So please distribute messages over the "semester" period to give other students an opportunity to react to what you say. Students who ignore this request are likely to receive an Incomplete in the course because I will not have time to grade them properly.
