Thinking before acting
Assessment involves thinking before action. Making decisions during an anger experience is a critical part of anger management. Of course, thinking is no substitute for action. At some point, we have to respond directly to the situation.

We examined four FireWorks skills that are part of the Assessment phase:

This is a skill Conduct a risk assessment
This is a skill Tune out provocations
This is a skill Stop and adjust my self-talk
This is a skill Avoid anger triggers

Let's now move to the third set of skills, Choosing a course of action.
