This is a skill Release physical tension
This is a skill Conform or leave circumstances I cannot change
This is a skill Give myself a time out
This is a skill When angry, slow down my response

Seven skills were examined for their potential usefulness when both of us are angry:
This is a skill Recognize and respect others' feelings at outset
This is a skill Find common ground
This is a skill Restate what I hear and see
This is a skill Make a specific reasonable request
This is a skill Use my anger to stand my ground
This is a skill Offer a conciliatory gesture
This is a skill Back away to deescalate

Let's move now to the final lesson, Honor and Follow-up.

This would be a good time to visit the message board to read what others have said about their learning experience with this module and post your own thoughts. You can reach the message board from the K-State Online home page for the FireWorks-2 course.
