Education abroad is a natural option for majors and minors in Women's Studies, who can benefit from a variety of courses in international feminisms, cultural studies, and the humanities. The Department recommends that you go abroad during the fall term of your junior year; the spring term of your senior year, summers, or intersessions.
Give back to the world! Teach English in China, assist a women's shelter in Morocco, or help preserve native species in Costa Rica through a service-learning program. Or join an International Service Team (IST) with the School of Leadership Studies, which will allow you to participate on a service project involving issues like health, education, the environment, and youth development during an eight to ten weeks stay abroad. - Faculty-Led Scholarship: Twenty-five $2,000 scholarships are available each year toward a semester or academic year program.
- Goss Discovery Scholarships: Twenty-five $5,000 schoalarshipa are available each year toward a semester or academic year program. Preference is given to Kansas high school graduates
- K-State Global Education Initiative Scholarships: Scholarships are available each year in varying amounts from $200 to $1,000 for academic year, semester, summer, and short-term faculty-led programs. Scholarships recipients must assist with the Study Abroad Fair and complete one service project for the Office of International Programs.
- K-State Presidential Scholarships for Australia: Five to seven $5,000 scholarships are available each year toward study abroad at the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney, or the University of Western Australia. Preference is given to students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who have accumulated at least 60 credit hours
