Women's Studies graduates are also prepared to initiate new programs for women and families. Many students combine their work in women's studies with majors in business, education, family studies and human services, journalism, pre- law, pre-med, social work, or other professions helping women, children, and families. Businesses, often international these days, need managers and executives who appreciate issues of diversity and understand the ramifications of discrimination and sexual harassment. Because women's studies courses strengthen skills in critical thinking and communication, they are especially good background for law and education. Because women's studies courses are student-centered, they foster and encourage leadership skills. Internships in Manhattan, Kansas, the U.S. and Globally. A Women’s Studies internship is the opportunity to gain valuable experience in community, volunteer, activist, or political organizations at the local, state, national, or international levels.
