  2. Women of K-State and the Ebony Theatre – Performance and Reception – February 20   2:30 pm  K-State Nichols Theatre  (Free admission)

The Ebony Theatre presents “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” by Ntozake Shange.   First published in 1975, FOR COLORED GIRLS, was praised by The New Yorker for  “encompassing…every feeling and experience a woman has ever had.”  Shange’s words reveal what it is (was) to be of color and female in the twentieth century.   The show is free of charge.  After the event, the Women of K-State will host a reception to visit with the director, cast and each other. More information on the show is available at http://cstd.k-state.edu/Theatre/index.html  Plan to meet the group at 2:15 outside of Nichols Theatre so we can sit together.

Other performances of the Ebony Theatre are Feb. 13 Manhattan Arts Center (2 pm) and Feb. 19 Nichols Theatre (7:30 pm).
