Ashley Casey is a Master's student in the Wisely lab as well as the Avian Ecology Lab. She is studying the breeding biology of Upland Sandpipers, a poorly known species of grassland shorebird. In this study, she is using microsatellite markers to investigate genetic parentage of offspring in this possible socially monogamous species. She is also investigating the link between CHD polymorphism and reduced egg viability.
