Jane Ridge knew something was missing. Not in her job as an academic coach in Kansas City, Missouri, or in the caliber of students she worked with. Instead, it was an experience she felt her students were missing, and an experience she wasn't quite able to provide.
"I found that many students do not have that close, one-on-one mentoring from an adviser or counselor in high school to prepare them for college," Ridge said. "I wanted to help them bridge the gap between high school and college."
"I wanted to become that adviser for students before they attend college," said Ridge. "K-State Global Campus was the only school I found with a degree program for academic advising."
K-State Global Campus enabled Ridge to continue doing the work that was so important to her while gaining new skills to benefit her students. This online-based campus provides educational opportunities for adult learners with the same standards of excellence found at K-State's three physical campuses. Students have access to various bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, doctoral degrees, minors and certificates, all from the comfort of their own home, no matter where that may be. K-State Global Campus students come from every corner of Kansas, the nation and world.
Since its inception more than 50 years ago, K-State's distance degree program has been committed to providing quality degree programs, lifelong learning and professional development opportunities. As the university and the world around it evolves, K-State Global Campus will evolve with it — driving forward with new educational delivery methods and bringing a top-notch educational experience to all students, regardless of their location.
That's the Wildcat Way.
