WHEAT TAXONOMY

Classification of Triticum according to Morris & Sears 1967, with nomenclatural corrections

Morris & Sears (1987) [reference] revised the Bowden (1959) [reference] cytogenetically based treatment by eliminating several taxa and giving "timopheevii" species status. Kimber & Sears (1987) [reference] should be consulted for the most current version of the genomic taxonomic concept. The Morris & Sears classification is of historical significance and is presented here in its original form except for spelling and authority corrections. The currently accepted genome symbols also have been added
