WESP offers many opportunities for K-12 students to explore the amazing world of science and engineering! Research reveals that most students and adults don’t know what engineering& science is, and if they had to guess, they’d tell you that they sit alone at a desk all day doing math problems. We have designed programs at K-State to show students the amazing things they can do as a scientist or engineer - all while making the world a better place!

Hands-On Campus STEM Tours
Teachers can contact us to host a two-three hour tour of a department in the colleges of Arts & Sciences or Engineering. K-State students will provide hands-on activities related to their major and give the students a tour of campus. Contact Susan for more information if you are interested.

Middle School
Girls Researching Our World is currently celebrating it's tenth year! GROW is designed to encourage and support girls in the 6th -8th grades to pursue a future in science, technology, engineering & mathematics. We offer one-day events and summer workshop on the main K-State campus in Manhattan KS. All events offer hands-on activities that focus on how scientists and engineers help make the world a better place.

High School
EXCITE! is designed to encourage and support students in the 9th -12th grades to pursue a future in science, technology, engineering & mathematics. We offer one-day events and a summer workshop on the main K-State campus in Manhattan KS for high school girls and events off campus for high school boys. All events offer hands-on activities that focus on how scientists and engineers help make the world a better place.

EXCITE! on the Road - EXCITE! has partnered with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway to bring you our events to high schools in Kansas! These events will be offered to male and female high school students in Dodge City and the Kansas City & Topeka areas. Contact Susan if you are interested in us bringing an event to your school!
