MEETING MINUTES FROM MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2008: 2 Important things: (1) Guys, please come to the meetings. As officers it is really hard to run a sports team/club and plan and organize events.... like the upcoming tournament, if the people that are usually participating aren't coming to the meetings; they are scheduled for a reason. It is difficult when other officers are taking on responsibilities of others - Officers, chairs and webmaster - you really need to be at the meetings since you have a ranking position in the club, be a leader! I know school can be rough and if you can't fulfill your position duties you need to step down. If Mondays at 9 pm isn't a good time for you, that can be changed! Bring it up with an officer and we can take a vote at the next meeting for a different time/day. If you cannot attend a meeting please email or call Trent or Lia so they know who is doing what and they don't feel like they are tracking people down. (2) Next Meeting: Monday, May 5 -- Union RM 206 -- VERY IMPORTANT MEETING! At this meeting we will be doing group voting to update the constitution. Our current constitution is outdated (we have officer positions not listed, old rules, etc) and I'm sure many of you aren't familiar with it. We would like you to be there so you can have your voice heard on what the structure of water ski team should be. Also, we will be following it more closely, and it would be to your advantage to know what is expected of members and also of the officers. KU Tourney: Have everything you are wanting to take in the trailer by 3:30 pm on Friday. Meet in mall parking lot behind Chili's and BE READY to leave at 4:00 pm. Trent says, "Not 3:30, not 4:05, 4:00." Ramp Update: For your 411, some members are working on it next week and finishing it up. Look forward to practicing on it in fall and going pro. Thanks to everyone that has been working on it! Practices this week: Trent's boat is broke down, he won't be having any practices. Steve might be and if so he will be sending out an email for that. Trash Bag Fundraiser: Keep up the good work guys! We have about half of the boxes out, and hopefully they are being sold. We would be ideal to have them all sold before fall gets here so we have money and a reason to pay for all of your entry fees and gas expenses for fall tourneys. Wouldn't that be awesome?? Website profiles: If you haven't already, please send your picture and info (examples at http://www.ksu.edu/waterski) to Jose so he can get those up and make our website look awesome.... Alumni , if you have an interest in this as well, we can make an alumni page! LA NIGHT JAM: This is at Bennett's in Zachary, LA, June 14. It is the 2nd stop for the 2008 Matercraft Pro Waterki Tour. It sounds pretty cool and will have your favorite pro skiers. There will be amusement rides and other activities on land, music, hot food and full bar service. Extreme wakeboard and barefoot demonstrations and Night Jam Beach Party until 1 am. I am considering going depending on if I have tests or projects due for my summer classes around the date. It would be a cool time and if any of you would like to go.... we can go together, road trip it! Keep it in mind.... it's a long ways off... more to come later. Bennett's in August: Don't forget, we are going to Bennett's again August 18 -22 for those of you that missed spring break or want to hit it up again! It is the week before classes start. We have 3 people already going for sure, and hopefully lots more on the way! If we get at least 6 people the total price will be $450, like it was at spring break. As of now, it is $475 a piece. If you want to go, get me a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot (it will be applied to your total cost) ASAP!!! UT is going and they are filling in spots fast! HURRY!
