Public Relations Campaigns Launched for City of Manhattan

Partnering with Kansas Pride: Healthy Ecosystems-Healthy Communities, Nancy Muturi oversaw an effective public relations campaigns course. The Healthy Ecosystems-Healthy Communities project is designed to help the citizens of Greely, Melvern and Rossvilleappraise their local natural resources.

As a capstone course, students had a real life application of what they have studied in the PR sequence regarding communication strategies, communication planning and implementation of events and campaigns. The course addressed various publics or audiences within communities and organizations including government, businesses and community based organizations (CBOs) and strategies to ensure good relations among them.

The students developed newsletters, a logo, and conducted market surveys to help create awareness in the selected communities.
